How do I remove SekChek’s certificates?
If you enabled SekChek’s Public Key Encryption features, the software will have automatically installed 3 x X.509 digital certificates in your system’s certificate store.
To remove these certificates, please do the following:

SekChek’s X.509 digital certificates are essential components of SekChek’s Public Key Encryption feature. If you remove them from your system, you will not be able to encrypt Extract files with SekChek’s Public Key.
1. Select the Content Tab of Internet Options within Internet Explorer
2. Click Certificates on the Content Tab
Click Certificates and select the relevant store. SekChek’s digital certificates can be found in the following certificate stores on your system:
- Trusted Root Certification Authorities;
- Intermediate Certification Authorities;
- Other People;
The following steps explain how to remove SekChek’s certificates from your system’s certificate store:
3. Remove SekChek’s Root Certificate
Select the Trusted Root Certificate Authorities tab
Select SekChekRootCA
Click Remove
Click Yes
Click Yes
4. Remove SekChek’s Subordinate Certificate
Select the Intermediate Certificate Authorities tab
Select SekChekSubOrdinateClients
Click Remove
Click Yes when prompted to delete the certificate
5. Remove SekChek’s Certificate
Select the Other People tab
Select SekCert
Click Remove
Click Yes when prompted to delete the certificate
6. Close Internet Explorer
Click Close to exit the Internet Explorer Certificate window.
SekChek’s digital certificates have now been successfully removed from the system.
Note:
If you decide to use the Public Key Encryption features at some later stage, simply enable the Use Public Key Encryption option, which is on the Options screen of the SekChek Software. This will ensure that SekChek’s certificates are installed in the appropriate certificate stores.
